📝 Daily Notes
Open Fernfiles and today's note is already there. No blank page, no “what should I call this”, no picking a folder. Just a place to jot it down. The phone call, the log lines, the half-thought: it lands somewhere you'll find again.
Every note is an ordinary versioned file, so nothing about a daily note can silently vanish: full history, a trash can, and a log of what happened to it.
How to use it
- Opening Fernfiles takes you straight to today's note, named like 20260917.md inside Daily Notes in your Notes folder.
- The note is made for you the first time you open it that day, empty. Nothing is in it but what you write.
- Your Notes folder is a setting on your profile page (default Notes). Changing it does not move existing notes; move them yourself if you want them together. Renaming the folder in your files follows the setting automatically.
- Link to any note with
[[note name]]. Daily notes link and backlink like everything else.
